CANADA'S WISHES.
Prime Minister Farewells Mr. Moloney. LOW LS3VEL OF DEPRESSION. (Received 9.30 a.m.) VANCOUVER, January 7. The Prime Minister of Canada, Mr. R. B. Bennett, has forwarded a farewell message to Mr. P. J. Moloney, Australian Minister of Markets, on the eve of his return to the Commonwealth after carrying out negotiations with reference to the trade treaty' between the two countries. "Accept my sincere appreciation," the message runs, "of the eminently fair manner in which you approached problems of mutual concern. lam confident the treaty will prove mutually advantageous. Please convey to your Prime Minister and the people of Australia Canada's best wishes. The low level of the depression has been reached. Wannest personal regards to yoursfelf and party." Other messages of confidence and good will were received by Mr. Moloney from other members of the Canadian Governr ment. AUSTRALIA LEADS. TRADE TREATY'S EFFECTS. (Received 12 noon.) VICTORIA (8.C.), January 7. Mr. P. J. Moloney, Australian Minister of Marko' ~ in an address on Monday, said ho would recommer.d Australian Cabinet to go to the limit of diverting to Canada trade which was already going through foreign countries.. Mr. Moloney said he was leaving Canada with the highest hopes and expectations for the success of the negotiations at Ottawa. "I believe," he said, "that what we have done at Ottawa will have a great psychological- effect upon the next Imperial. Conference. There may be others who will, want to fall in line with us." *
