WAIHI NEWS.

The Wharekirauponga district, near Whiingainata, wlierc a good deal of prospecting and mining was carried out in the early ' days, is 'again - attracting some attention. It is the intention of Mr. J. 15. Paepker, a one-time resident of Waihi, who lias followed up mining for a considerable period, to take up a claim at Te Whariki and thoroughly prospect and test a sulphide lode deposit which is known to exist there. Mr. Faepker -passed through Waihi on Wednesday on liis way to that district.
