' SOCIAL GATHERINGS. An enjoyable evening was spent on Tuesday, when about seventy friends, who visited Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Patten, at Buckland's Beach, were entertained aboard the houseboat . Britannia, which is anchored at Eastern Beach wharf. During the evening musi 7 cal items, dancing, and games were enjoyed. Items were .given by Mrs. Winters, Mrs. Morton, Mies Ola Baster, t Mr. Blood and Mr. Blackburn. The accompanists were Mrs: Blood, Mrs. Blackburn, Mr. and Mrs. Morton, while dance music was played by Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jury and Miss Eileen Keenan. Among those present were: Mesdainos Patten, Winters, Morton, Greenland, Jury, J. Smith, Nicholson, Jones, Probert, Elliott, Blood, Croucher, Smith, Eton, Campbell, Kerr, Nicholl,-Skelton, M. Burgees, Blackburn, Phillips, Cleaver, Misses Barry, Teasdaie, Gee, Baster, Duncan, Farquhar, Blood, Donaldson, Grant, Keenan, Dixon.
A dance Avals held in the Matiere Hall 011 New Year's night after the school picnic, which was well attended. The music was supplied by Mrs, E. Thomas and Misses Kl Stevenson, N. Higgie, P. McAvady.
