THE EVICTED TENANT.
j Will you permit me a, little space in your paper to ask what is to become of all those who are being evicted by landlords and landladies? They have no money and cannot get any, yet they are expected to pay rent 01 go on the street. The landlords blame the Government, but the Government is doing its very best to find work or money for everybody, but as long as some of the landlords and landladies are pulling- against everybody and feathering their- own nests to the detriment of everyone who happens to be down this country will-never get up. Would it not at a time like this be a very good suggestion if the Government stepped in and made it a punishable oil-nee for a landlord to evict a tenant where the case can be proved truly genuine and that the person has no money but will pay when lie gets work? It would be both helping the Government to get breath when it is now on such noble work and helping decent human beings to remain decent instead of becoming degenerate. N. B. DEVOXPORT.
