OLD MINER'S DEATH.
MR. HENRY BROWNLEE. (From Our Own Correspondent.) THAMES, this day. The death has occurred of Mr. Henry Brownlee, who was born at Gate Pa, Tauranga on September 19, 1805. The deceased was one of the oldest experienced miners in the Thames. He managed several mines in the earlier days, and was a prominent member of the Thames Naval Volunteers. He was one of the founders of the Thames Rugby Union City Football Club, and played for the Shortland and the Wanderers Clubs. He represented Thames and Auckland. Mr. Brownlee was a keen supporter of whaleboat racing. He married Miss Annie W. Henderson, of Henderson, who predeceased him five years ago. He- leaves three sons, Mr. George Brownlee, of Wanganui, Mr. Henry G. Brownlee, of Thames, Mr. Ernest 0. Brownlee, of Thames, and one daughter, Mrs. J, Hill, of Thames.
