DOMINION CHAMPIONSHIPS.
JUNIOR FINALS DECIDED. TWO PLAYERS OF PROMISE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The New Zealand tennis championship's were continued t|-day in weather which was fine but cooler. The morning play was confined mostly to junior events. The principal semi-finals will be played this afternoon. The winner of the intermediate final was educated at Rugby, England. He won the English junior championship in 1927. He has been in New Zealand for the past two years, farming at Roxburgh, Otago. • He defeated Cant, of Canterbury, by greater steadiness and accuracy, especially in good length driving and'his judgment of openings. Cant, who is promising, was more aggressive, but he erred too often in his return of service.
Davys, 17 years, had not the slightest trouble in annexing the boys' championship. He has a delightful easy swinging stylo and is already a master of courtcraft. He is a pupil at a private school in Wellington. Davys did not lose a set in this event. He should develop into a champion when lie joins the senior ranks, as he has reach as well as skill and agility.
