The "New York Times" in a long article praising the care with which Sir Douglas Mawson's expeditions are prepared, and the scientific standing' of the personnel, says: ~"It is no secret that Australia particularly has an economic interest in these explorations. Britain is becoming a. rival- to Norway in: the whale fisheries."
