TRANS-TASMAN RACE.

MELBOURNE MAN'S PLANS

MELBOURNE, December 28,

Mr. F. J. Bennell, owner of the yacht Oimara, states that nothing, definite'has been arranged concerning the race across the Tasman. Mr. Stacey, of Christchurch, lias withdrawn, but a Wellington yachtsman has since been in communication with him on the subject.

Mr. Bennell has decided to sail to New Zealand, and will leave Melbourne for Auckland about January 10. The crew will consist of a navigator, and Mr. Bennell and his son, and possibly two others. The Oimara is now being overhauled for the trip.
