ENGINEER'S ARREST.
ALLEGED THEFT OF LETTER. * " Arrested in Auckland yesterday by Detective Knight, George Crompton Mansfield, 36, an engineer, was brought before the Police Court this morning on a charge of stealing from a postal officer, at Hawera on November 25, a postal packet containing two cheques, one for £21 6/3 and another for £16 IS/. On the application of the police, accused was remanded to appear on December 11.
