PARATOO VERY WELL. ENGAGED.AT WOODVILLE. (By Telegraph.—Special,to "Star/') WANG'ANUI, Thursday. Tilde was q, little work done on the trackii this morning. The weather was perfect. Before breakfast the only ones to work were Impetuous, Queanbeyan a'nd Arvada. The last-named put in a round at half-pace, finishing up by running the last two furlongs fast. Arvada is shaping up nicely, but she may not be seen at her best until the New Year. Impetuous put in a couple of rounds at half pace. This iilly is making Steady progress, and she may be a runner at the Tiiranaki meeting at "•'Christmas, in juvenile events. Pomp, Pedestal and Solange' are having a few days spell T3ie chances are they will race at Awapuni and Marton during the holidays. > After breakfast, Paratoo put in two rounds on the outside • of the, course proper at half pace, finishing up ..fast 'over the last two furlongs. This gelding looks remarkably well, and moved very freely. He will be hkrd to beat if taken to Woodville. Knollmere trotted - round to the quarter-mile post, and then went at half pace for a circuit,' finishing up' with a sprint over the last two furlongs. This gelding appears to be all the better for his race at,Feilding, and it should not be long before he gets among. the winners again. He will probably accompany. Paratoo to Woodville, and;, then visit , Auckland. . Fernden, .looking, bright and well, was given a-couple of. rounds, on the plough at half pace. It is unlikely he Vml race at Woodville. - Just An Idea appears much improved by his racing. at. Feildihg.. He was trotted round a couple of times on the lead. ■ V All Humbug had Danny Eoy and the Chief Ruler filljr in M. Gardner's stable as companions in a spin over three furlongs. All Humbug finished a length in front of the filly 'in. 39£s, with Danny Boy a similar distance further back. Queanbeyan and All Humbug are both 4engaged at- Woodville "the second day, but it has not yet been decided whether they are to make the trip.
FAILED TO STAY. . The Te Awamutu filly Hoihoma had two more failures recorded against her at the Takapuna meeting. She began well in both events and displayed plenty of speed, but she. failed to stay on, and until she improves in this respect hertrainer will find it hard to win races with her.
