NO REASON TO STEAL.
YOUTH ORDF TI ED TO PAY COSTS,
James Flavell, aged IS, appearing at the Pukekohe .Folice Court yesterday, admitted the theft of a pair of trousers and a pair of shoes at Patumalioe, the property of Laurie Cameron Macdonald. Macdonald, a telephone exchange clerk at Patumalioe, said he commenced work at 6 a.m. on November 25 and finished at 10 p.m- On hio return to a bach he occupied he found the articles missing. Counsel for the accused stated that neither the trousers nor the shoes would fit accused. He had about £2 16/ in cash and had one week's wages owing to him. He had been in custody since Thursday last. Sergeant C. Annis said accused admitted tho offence, but could give no reason for his act. "I don't want vou to mistake this as leniency on the part of the Court," said the magistrate, Mr. F. H. Levien, in convicting and discharging accused. . He was ordered to pay costs £1 15/6.
