"AT HOME."
The reception which follows the annual meeting of the Auckland branch of the British Medical Association is a function that is always looked forward to by members of the medical profession and their wives. It marks the close of mundane affairs of business and over a cup of tea friends meet and chat together. Yesterday afternoon the At Home held in the women's common room at the University College was well attended. The president, Dr. Kenneth MaeCormick. and Mrs. MacCormick were host and hostess. The large room with its dark brown furnishings and comfortable lounges and chairs looked attractive for the occasion. On the polished tables stood slim vases containing beautiful blooms of pink and cerise carnations and also to be seen were bowls of delicately shaded sweet peas and roses. Later in the afternoon tea was served at small table® in the room adjoining. Mrs. MacCorniick received her guests wearing a frock of navy blue satin beaute with self-toned pattern. Palo pink georgette formed a turnover collar and cuffs, and she wore a widebrimmed hat of black ballibuntal straw. Among those who were present were: Dr. Gladys Montgomery, Dr. Gladys Rowley, Dr. Elizabeth Cole, Mesdames Kenneth Mackenzie, Kenneth Gordon, Aitken Paterson. Donald McKenzie, A. G. Talbot, J. A. Watson, J. W. Maskell, Cuthbcrt • McCaw, John" Dreadon, J. Hardie Neil, Peter Moir, Fitzsinimons, O. F. Lamb, R. H. Walton, Kendrick, L. Ludbrook, A. B. Jameson, Tracy Inglis, J. H. Will, T. W. Wilkin and Gilmer.
