He would only need to be like his old self to be Very hard to ■beat with that. weight. Cliromadyne '•(8.4) has won five races on end, including the, Shorts Handicap, six furlongs at Ellerslie. and lie will have plenty of friends if at his best. Gesture (8.1) was fourth in that event, with 8.3, ' and finished third in the Feilding Stakes to Lady Quex and Supremacy, heads dividing the trio. She' looks improving, and if started should be hard to dispose of. Leitrim, Karapoti, White Fang, Autopay, (who won the Stewards Handicap at Riccarton), and White Wings are all on the 7.12 mark, and of this lot Autopay and Karapoti appeal most. Arrow Lad (7.8 is nicely placed, while of the others, Awaken,-Great-Star, Refresher and Tenterde'n look the best.. The, last-named .was a good two-year-old, and showed a return to form by beating Autopay in the Colyton Handicap, six furlongs, at Feilding,. on Monday.
