Canon P. T. Williams, of the Bay of Klands, who has been visiting England, has returned to New Zealand. Mr. E. McVeagh returned to Auckland bv the Marama yesterday after a health trip to England and the Continent. The Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers has accepted the office of president of the Discharged Prisoners' Aid Society. Mr H. Thomae, of Auckland, and Mr. J Holmes, of Frankton, who have been big game hunting in Africa, returned by the Marama yesterday. Mr J. A. C. Allum, chairman of the Auckland Transport Board, left for Wellington last evening to attend a meeting of the executive of the Municipal Association. - ! Mr J. S. Fletcher, M.P. for Grey Lynn, and Mrs. Fletcher left Wellington by the Monowai yesterday for San Francisco. They will return to Auckland, via Vancouver, on February 23. The Rev. Brother Benignus, director of Sacred Heart College, left for Wellington last evening to attend a conference of representatives of State schools and the Registered Secondary Schools' Association. Mr. W. J. Holdsworth, chairman of the Auckland Electric Power Board, and Mr. 11. H. Bartley, general manager, left for Wellington last evening to interview the Minister of Public Works, the Hon. W. B. Taverner, regarding supplies of power. f
