PICTURES FOR AUCKLAND.
In the account of the report presented by Mr. E. W. Payton at a meeting of the Mackelvie trustees on Monday afternoon it was stated that the trustees have under consideration the removal of a number of indifferent pictures in the present collection to make room for the new ones. Who is being asked to make this w selection, and who has the knowledge for such an office? Judging by the mistakes which have been made in the past, outside judgment should be obtained, someone who is. well qualified to judge, before any move is made in the matter, or even greater mistakes may be made.
