CIVIC LEAGUE.
The splendid work which the late Mrs. Nellie , E: Ferner did: for ' the city was referred to feelingly last night by the president and members of" the Civic League, of which organisation Mrs. Ferner was an active member for many years. Members stood in silence as a tribute to her memory. A discussion took place afterwards as to whether a zoo was a desirable adjunct to a city, and the opinion was expressed that as generally planned and arranged it was undesirable.
