WOMEN'S INSTITUTES.

The meiribers of the Netherton Women's Institute were favoured with a visit from the Paeroa Women's Institure on the occasion" of their fourth monthly meeting, held in the local hall on the 28th inst, and presided over by Mrs. Scudamore, president. The presi-. dent welcomed the visitors in a few well chosen remarks, and all present entered into the order of the meeting with zest. Several new members were 'elected. Mrs. James demonstrated bath mat, cushion tops, table centres _ and slipper making from old silk stockings, which, when made up, were works of art. A hearty, vote of thanks was accorded ,thV demonstrator. ■ The roll 'call wa3 answered,; with . , some .splendid recipes for sandwich fillings. '. Mesdames Mitchell ; and ;Mettam,,;delighted the members with their songs, as did Mrs.' J. Morrison, juii., with her pianoforte solos. All three ladies responded to loud encores. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Scudamore, Death'," Harold, Bell and Epps.
