WAIHI SWAMP LANDS,

(By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Friday. The Lands Committee reporting 011 the petition of Mr. W. E. G. Holland, an Edgecombe farmer, claiming compensa-tion-for losses incurred in Hereford Park settlement, in Tauranga County, referred the matter to the Government's favourable consideration, with the suggestion that the Crown Lands Commissioner further investigate the case. The committee reported favourably 011 the petition of a number of Pongakawa settlers, requesting an inquiry into the administration of Walhi swamp lands in the locality affected.
