SHIPMENT FOR LONDON MARKET.

GISBORNE, this day,
A vessel, which is due here on November 13, will take the first Gisborne lamb ever to be supplied to the London' Christmas trade.
Acting on representations made, the directorate ©f the .Haiti works has been; able to secure space ior the shipment of early lambs, which are now well forward, on a vessel whichis due to arrive in London about Christmas. In the past the rr.'iiti -works have not opened until about, the end of and :the first ship-; -ment has not arrived in London until mid-January. Prices at that period, have been usually on a high level, hut; (better prospects are likely ior earlier; shipments. It is proposed to open rfche; •Kaiti works on November 3 for the; slaughtering of early lambs or ewes.
About a -week's killing should cope; ■with all the early lambs available, but if it appears that sufficient stock will be coming forward, the works will -remain open for' the ordinary programme -of the; season.
