ELDERLY MAN HURT.
LONG TRIP TO HOSPITAL
MANUKAU HEADS ACCIDENT.
As the result of slipping down a bank at Orua Bay, Manukau Heads, late yesterday afternoon, Mr.' John Turner, aged 72, broke his leg. He was taken on the loiig trip to the Auckland Hospital, where his conditio to-day was reported to be not serious. . >_
Soon-after the accident, Mr,- Turner's plight, wjas noticed by a party of workmen, w r ho carried him on an improvised stretched to the Orua Bay settlement. A.launch was sent from Onchunga, but though arrangements were speeded up as. much as possible, it was not , until after 11 o'clock that the injured man was set /ashore at Onehunga. Tlie St. John Ambulance was there to meet him, and it- Was ,not long before he was in the hospital.
