PRICES AT FRANKTON. BEEF VALUES LOWER. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual weekly stock sale at Frankton saleyards £>n Tuesday, October 7, as under: — There was an average yarding of beef. Prices generally were a shade lower. We sold medium weight bullocks at up to ilia/; light fat steers, £10 17/6 to £11 17/6, prime fat heifers, £9 7/6 to pnine fat cows, to £9; light fat cows, ~4 10/ to £5 e There was a large yarding of store cattle, but owners' values were not reached, and the larger proportion of the yarding was passed at auction. We sold forward young store cows, £5 10/; boner cows, £2; to £3 10/; yearling Jersey-cross heifers, £3
SJ. There was an average yarding of fat sheep. Pat ewes were lower, but good quality wethers made full late rates. Prime shorn wethers to 24/3; fat woolly ewes, heavy, to 18/* light and medium weight ewes, 13/ to 15/3; fat woolly hoggets, to 21/; forward ditto, 14/9 to 18/. A good yarding of fat. pigs, with full yarding of stores. Pat pigs were easier, whilst stores were about same as last week: Heavy baconers, £2 10/ to £3 4/; medium do., £2 14/ to £3; light do. and heavy porkers, £2 8/ to £2 12/; choppers, £3 10/ to £4 2/; large stores, £1 16/ to £2 6/; slips, £1 9/ to £1 15/; best weaners, £1 2/ to £1 7/; small do., ,15/ to 18/. ...
