ANGORA RABBIT INDUSTRY.
. COMPLAINT OF RESTRICTIONS. (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. A plea for the encouragement of the Angora rabbit industry was made in the House, to-l'jght by • Mr. W.. E. Parry (Labour, Auckland Central), w'uo stated that in spite of the fact that the Government allowed the importation of the rabbits the regulations of'rabbit'boards practically stultified the progress of the liidustfy. So adverse to/'the.'industry had been the regulations that some breeders had been forced to go to-'Aus-tralia. The industry had aieat possibilities, and. recently there had been an ' offer to. purchase almost' unlimited quantities of wool at 25/-per-pound. ihe Hon. A. J. Murdoch, Minister of •'Agriculture; replied thatthe Department j was not unsympathetic toward the Angora rabbit industry. There was a certain amount of-diflicultv in some- districts, ' where ■ there were rabbit boards, j but he thought it would be found that- ' permits had been granted in practically ( every case in which application had beeii < made. ,
