WOMEN'S INSTITUTES.
TE ATATU. The monthly meeting of the Te Atatu Women's Institute, was held in the Methodist Church last Thursday afternoon, when Mrs. Chadwiek presided, and a large number of members were present. After the ordinary business. Mrs. Tickle read u report of" the annual meWing of the A.P.F.TIM. Mrs. Morris, of Henderson, then gave a very interesting demonstration on passe-partout jihoto framing. During the afternoon Mrs. Willets sang, and while tea was being served. Mrs. Rijacom played the organ solo. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs. Savage and Miss Semadeni. TE TJKU. The usual monthly meeting of the Te Uku Women's Institute was held on Thursday. A report-of the conference of the Waikato Women's Institute was read by the president, Mrs. Dodd. A round-table conference was held, the subject being. "Should a federation be formed in the Waikato, or should the women's institutes be carried on under the group system?" On account of the infancy of the movement it was decided to carry on with the group sfstem at present. It was suggested that the institute communicate with the ladies of Te Mata to see if they would be willing to form a branjeh of the institute. Four new members were elected. Mrs. and Miss Harsant were hostesses.
