SUSPECT SENT FOB TRIAL

FOLLOWED BY CONSTABLE.

Following a complaint,, a constable went to a house at 114, Union Street, on the night of October 1, and found a man leaving with clothes overplus arm. Tlie constable followed the man and later arrested him. I Yesterday William James Moore, [a butcher, aged 44, appeared -before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Police .Court, charged with breaking and entering the house of William Ellersmere Gibson and stealing war medals and articles valued at £1. Constable C. H. Davis said that accused, when arrested, was carrying over his right arm a woman's overcoat, « child's overcoat and an apron. He was under the influence of liquor. 'At the Freeman's Bay police station I accused had said the property belongs to Mrs. A, Lilly, of N'opier Street, t»j he had gone to'a house in Union Street to see a Mrs. Ballnniyne.
