FOLLOWING-THE LEADER.—Drawing the inside position in the big handicap yesterday, Standfast rushed to the lead and the rest of the competitors chased him until the winning post was passed. This picture, coming into the straight, illustrates' how much ground Count Palatine: (marked with an X) made up in his great run down the straight to get second. The order of the 'horses alongside the rails is Standfast, Silvermine, Historic, High Pitch, Count Palatine and Seatown (white) last.
