BAY OF PLENTY ROADS.
KAIMAI IN GOOD ORDER. THIRD OUTLET FOR DISTRICT. (By A Travelling Correspondent.) . The clematis on the WhakataneRotorua Road around the lakes is now in full bloom. These beautiful blossoms may be seen far and near, covering the trees like great white fleeces. There seems to be more clematis in this district than in any other part of New Zealand. The roads leading into the Bay of Ple/ity are now in splendid order. "The Kaimai Road has never been in better condition. This road has been recently widened and all the sharp bends taken off. A large concrete bridge across the Wairoa River has been erected, and another is J'n course of construction. This road is becoming very popular. It provides a third outlet for the Bay of Plenty, bringing Tauranga within a few hours' run of Auckland. The Bay-of Plenty roads are now equal to anything in New Zealand. Most of them are metalled throughout, and provide a splendid motor drive through luxuriant country. °
