VETERANS ENTERTAINED.
CONCERT AT MOUNT RO SKILL. A concert party organised by A Squadron of the Legion of Frontiersmen visited the Veterans' Home at Mount Roskill on Thursday evening, and entertained the inmates with a programme of songs ana elocutionary items. The party was m charge of Captain Palmer, M.C., and the following artists contributed to the success of the evening:—Mrs. D. Middleton, Mrs. Scott, Messrs. Rickitts, Wats°n, Bryant, R. Woods, D. Middleton, D. an " field and Troopers Miekle and N. Kerr. The Rev. 11. K. Vickery was a very popular M.C., and during the evening told interesting and amusing tales of experiences on and off the battlefield. . At the conclusion of the entertainment Major Wallingford thanked the visitors, and eulogised the excellent work being done by the Legion of Frontiersmen. A squadron of the Legion is again organising the Boy Scouts' annual boxing tournament. Arrangements are well in hand for this year's fixture, to be held m Auckland towards the close of the present month. Troopers H. May and S. Barclay have been appointed Legion representatives to the various scout troops _ for I instructional purposes, and reports indicate that the forthcoming tournament will be highly successful.
