MOTOR DRIVER CHARGED.
CANTERBURY WOMAN'S DEATH " \ CAR AND TRAP COLLIDED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ASHBURTON, Saturday. An accident occurred on May 22 in which Rachel Annie Higliley was killed through a collision between a horse and trap and a car on the Cairnbrae-Methven road, and Lawrence' Thomas McKendry, j the driver of the car, was to-day charged in the Methven Court with having negligently driven the car, thereby causing the death of Rachel Annie Higliley. Accused pleaded not' guilty and was committed for trial. Bail in £100 on his own recognisance was' granted, conditional on reporting" to the police weekly.
