ATHLETICS.

CHANCE FOR SAVIDAN. MAY VISIT MELBOURNE. It is understood that an endeavour /will be made by the Victorian Amateur Athletic Association to arrange for a visit to Victoria by J. W. The Victorian championships will be hold in Melbourne on February 14 and 21, 1931, and the infecting or Savidan and Rose with the Victorian champions, Hyde and Hillhouse, would create intense interest. ST. STEPHEN'S COLLEGE SPORTS. Rain spoilt what would have been a fine meeting at the annual sports day on Saturday of the St. Stephen's Maori College. The ground, which can have a really good running surface in fine weather, became a muddy patch at the end 3f the day's events. Nevertheless some very creditable times were put up under the conditions, and the contestants lost none of their desire to make it a gala day because of the adverse dictates of the weather clerk.
