MINIATURE GOLF COURSE.
CIVIC THEATRE BASEMENT.
OPENING NEXT FEIDAY. Every now and again the taste of the amusement-loving public swings in the direction of a new craze. Golf is one of the outdoor sports which is claiming increasing attention from thousands of the masses who formerly thought that this sport was for the extremely well-to-do only. Miniature golf is a scientific development of the ordinary game of golf and in England, America and on the Continent it is becoming quite the vogue. .Auckland is to have an exposition of the idea in the Civic Theatre basement commencing next Friday. ""There will be a full cigliteen-hole course with numerous novel problems against which the golfing enthusiast may pit his skill. Anybody can play, though, of course, the more expert golfers will do the course in a less number of strokes. An expert has arrived from America who has installed more than two hundred courses in the United States and is enthusiastic about the prospects of the installation at the Civic. On the opening night prominent golfers will give expositions of how the game is played and a large number of rounds are said to be already booked. —(Ad.)
