Gallipoli Landing in Realistic Setting. BRITISH PRODUCTION.
(British Official Wireless.) (Received 12.30 p.m.) RUGBY, September 28. Over 1000 men took part in a realistic reproduction Of the Gallipoli landing of 1915 for a British film just completed. The principal scenes were.shot at Malta, where several hundred marines from the British Mediterranean garrison were landed. The uniforms for the. actors were obtained by permission of the British and Australian Governments. H.M.s. Queen Elizabeth, which figured so prominently in the original operations at Suvla Bay and Hellas, was requisitioned for the film, and the big dawn landing from the transport River Clyde has been vividly constructed.
