FURTHER AMENDMENT.
CANADA'S TARIFF MEASURES. (Received 12 noon.) OTTAWA, September 18. ; Mr. .E. J. Garland on Thursday moved a Progressive amendment to the Liberal amendment against the tariff proposals, which after having stated that Parliament was called to deal with unemployment and that extreme agricultural depression exists, says that "the House is of opinion that the proposals do not constitute a,, permanent or general ear 6 for unemplbyment. In particular they will not enable us to secure markets for our. agricultural products in general. This /Houie is. further >of opinion that a solution to our problem can .be found only, by the adoption of co-operative principles, in production and distribution, and by the, public control of credit.'.'
