UNEMPLOYED EX-SOLDIERS.

WAR FUNDS COUNCIL GRANTS,

Grants of £600 in two amounts for the relief of able-bodied unemployed soldiers were received by the Auckland Provincial Patriotic and War Relief Association, from the National War Fluids Council, stated a letter from the council at a meeting of the executive of the association to-day.

The first amount of £350 was received on July 16. Of this sum £50 was sent to Hamilton for the relief work there, £25 to Rotorua, £25 to Opotiki and £20 to Waihi for similar purposes in those towns. A further £250 was received on August 29, and the balance of the two amounts will be distributed from the Auckland centre. .
