MORRISON SHIELD MATCHES,
The representatives of Auckland, printing houses met to-day to make final arrangements for the annual League football competition for the , Morrison Shield, presented by. Messrs. Morrison and Morrison, ink manufacturers.. This trophy has been competed for during the past ten years and is at . present held by the "New Zealand Herald.", team,. Owing to a difficulty in connection wi|h grounds . these " knock-out contests ' will, not commence; ixntil* to-morrow-fortnight, the draw being as follows: —Clark and Matheson, Ltd., ; aiid Whitcombe - and Tombs, - Ltd. (combined) -v. "Auckland Star"; T\right and Jacques/; Ltd., and Abel Dykes,. Ltd. (combined) v. "Herald.''' It is hoped to stage the fina,l the fol; lowing -wqek-on Carlaw, Park.; : . teams interested are already practising for the fixtures, and keen, games'Var6 anticipated. • - , , ; • u—, !
