MARBLE SARCOPHAGUS.
A beautifully carved marble sarcophagus' believed by Turkish archaeologists to be that of the Emperor Constantine the Great, founder of Constantinople (now Istanbul), who died in 337, has been .discovered in a garden of the Janissary Museum, Constantinople. Workmen turned up the sarcophagus while digging an entrance to the ByzantiheVcistern beneath the museum and the St. Sophia Mosque, which soon will be* opened to the public. .. <
