APPEAL TO ENGLISH BODY. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday,
A year or so ago the New Zealand Football Association wrote to the English Football Association upon the possibility of sending British teams to one of the Dominions each, year alternately.' The proposal was disseminated through the Press all over the world, and the South African Football Association has now written to the New Zealand body welcoming the proposal and asking for further information. The council of the New Zealand Football Association met to-night, Mr. F. Campbell presiding, when the letter received from the South African Football Association was considered. Regrefwae expressed by the New Zealand Association that the appeal for an English team to visit New Zealand was unsuccessful, but the matter was reviewed with a further suggestion that the English Football Association should consider the possibility of organising a scheme whereby an English team of young players would tour New Zealand, Australia, Canada and South Africa in successive seasons, making a regular programme of Empire, tours.; ; It was agreed to s«r»d .particulars of the request made to the .English Football Association, 'to African, Canadian and Australian ■ Football Associations, in the hope that all of them would give it their support, and communicate with the English Football Association on similar lines.
