The Consul-General for China, Mr. F. T. Sung, in an address to the Foreign Mission demonstration, held in conjunction with the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church, severely criticised the missions in .China. ; • ■ . 'It was expected that lie would speak on the good results of missionary .'work, but'.on the contrary :he delivered an attack on Christian missions in Ms country. . ■ * « • He declared that the anti-Christian movement there was due to, the presentation by missionaries of the Christian religion, because of its apparent inconsistency between theory and practice. Christianity in China was in the balance. "Cannot the Churches liere save their faith before it is too late?" he asked.
