BEETROOT PICKLE!
Wash freshly-dug 1 beetroot -without breaking: the skin, and toil till tender. Peel, cut in slices, and put into jars. Boil enough White Cottell's Pure English Malt Vinegar to cover the beet, allowing to every quart ioz each of bruised ginger, peppercorns, salt and cloves; when.flavoured, strain and pour into jars.—(Ad.),
