A GOOD OPENING.
SYDNEY, September 15,
The Sydney wool sales were' opened today. The offerings comprised 11,450 bales, of which 10,858 were sold. In addition 298 bales were sold privately. The market ruled firm at July closing rates, with; good general competition. French; German and Belgian buyers were active and Japanese and Yorkshire buyers gave useful support. _ The offerings mainly were suited to Continental - demand and satisfaetoi-y clearances were made. Greasy Merino sold to 14% d.
