WITH PRICES LOWER,
A fair number of sales have been finalised since the "Star" went to press yesterday, but there is no buoyancy in the market, and business transacted has been mainly at the expense of holders, who have been compelled to accept lower values. New low levels have been reached, with Commercial Banks changing hands at 18/3 and New South Wales at - - £31, ■:/' . : . A surprising decline lias occurred in Taupiri Coals," with a sale at £1 3/6,.a drop of 3/4 in less than four weeks. Pukemiros are a little firmer, with buyers at £2 5/. There was some inquiry this morning for Australian securities, but at low limits. Australian Glass were asked for at £1 5/6, Colonial Sugars at £30, Henry Jones at £12/6, and British Tobacco at £1 11/6. ' A parcel of Lewis Eady pref. shares was -■ offered at 19/6, and of Newton King prefs. . at 13/6. The Noon Call. A fair amount of business was put through, during the morning, with the market trend still favouring buyers. At the noon call New South Wales were offered still lower at £3i. Farmers' Auctioneering pref. shares were asked for, 16/ being offered for the A's and 15/ for the B's. Government War Bonds, 4%'s, were on offer at £100 10/. SALES COMPLETED. Last Sale.
