WHANGAREI, Monday.

At a meeting of ratepayers <5f Otamatea County, which -was held at Mareretu on Saturday, great exception was taken to the slowj manner of spending the £5000 loan which was raised twelve years ago. It was resolved j that the meeting of ratepayers express keen disappointment at the failure of the late Minister of Public Works, the Hon. L. A. Ransom, to honour hid promise to make a free grant of £3 to £1 in order to finish metalling this summer.
