ARRIVAL FROM SYDNEY.
The Golden Arrow, the worlds most famous racing car, in which the late bir Henry Segrave established the world s land speed record, arrived at Auckland by the Ulimaroa from Sydney this moniinc/. The car will be exhibited at the All-British (U.K.) Motor Olvmpia, which is to open at Auckland on October 3.. Presented to. the British nation by Sll Charles Wakefield, the Golden Arrow being taken round the world under the auspices of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders. The car cost £18,000 to build. The following details of the car should' prove of interest:—Overall length, 26ft; overall height, 3ft 9in; weight, 2i tons; wheelbase, 13ft 4in ;■ ground clearance, Tin; ..engine, 12 cylinder, h.p.; bore of cylinders, 5 T-Bin; stroke, s Jin; tyres, 37in x 7in; tread thickness, l-10th of an inch; maximum speed in low gear, .81 m.p.li.; maximum speed in second gear, 100 m.p.li.; record 5peed,,231.30 m.p.h.; cost of car, £18,000.
