The New Zealand Meat Producers' Board has received the following cable from its London office, dated September 12, 1930, advising that the following are the approximate average prices realised for the week, based on actual transactions of wholesale quantities of the descriptions of meat mentioned, and are for representative parcels of the goods offering during the week, being for business done on the basis of delivered to Smithfield market and/or ex London stores: — Sheep.—Canterbury and North Island selected crossbred wethers and maiden ewes, 48/561b, sVid per lb; 57/G4lb, sd; 65/721b, 4%d; North Island, 48/561b, 5%d; 57/G4lb, 4%d; 65/721b, 4%d; ewes, 48/641b, 3%d; 65/721b, 3%d. Second quality lamb also meeting with better inquiry. Consumption satisfactory for time of year. New Zealand mutton market: Wethers, consumptive demand is improving, with slightly better prices. Ewes, market is quiet, but prices slightly improved. New Zealand beef: Nominal prices. Demand is slow, owing to lower prices of Argentine chilled beef. New Zealand porker pigs: Increased demand with better prices. New Zealand baconer pigs: Market is easier owing to lower prices of Continental bacon. i

The New Zealand Dairy Produce Board has received the following market report from its London office, dated September 12:— Butter. —New Zealand: Salted, 124/ to 128/; unsalted, 146/ to 150/; first whey, 118/; second whey, 116/. Deliveries New Zealand this week, 1489 tons; in store, 9994 tons. Improved demand. Australian: Salted, 123/ to 126/; unsalted, 128/ to 134/. Argentine: Unsalted, 120/ to 124/. Irish Creamery: Salted, 128/; unsalted, 132/. Danish: F.0.b., 148/; spot, 154/. French Baskets: Salted, 138/. Market firm. Estonian: 128/ to 130/. Latvian: 128/ to 130/. Siberian: 120/ to 122/.' Polish: 106/ to 116/. Lithuanian: 126/ to 128/. Market quiet. Retail prices unchanged. Empire Marketing Board's estimated stocks of all butters, 967,442 boxes. The Dairy Board's circular quotes the following extract from a London cablegram:—"Full cream cheese is now generally at a premium of 1/ t6 2/ over standardised, but some agents are returning account sales showing an equal price where neighbouring factories are making both descriptions." MERCHANTS' CABLES. Amalgamated Dairies, Limited, have today received the following market report from their London office: — Butter.—Anchor advanced, 130/; other finest, fresh landed, 128/; stored, 126/. Market very firm for all descriptions, with generally improved tone. Danish, 148/, f.o.b. Retail prices still irregular at unchanged prices. Cheese.—White, 74/. Firm after good sale. White. 70/ upwards. Full cream very short, 75/ to 76/. Retail prices still lOd and lid.
