WOMEN TEACHERS' ASSOCIATION.

The Auckland branch of the Women Teachers' Association held a social gathering in Myers' Kindergarten last evening to welcome Miss Andrews, the Dominion president. The room was prettily decorated with bowfs of Iceland poppies and other spring flowers. Miss Andrews was a delegate to the recent Pan-Pacific Conference at Honolulu, where she represented the women teachers of New Zealand on the education section. Miss F. J. Taylor presided over a gathering of eighty members, and warmly welcomed the guest of honour. Miss Andrews then gave an address on her impressions of the conference, dealing more particularly with the work of the education section. She paid a high tribute to the way this section had been controlled by Miss Sims, of Christchurch, who acted as its leader, and the speaker said that the forty-four delegates in this section all took part in instructive and interesting discussions. At the eonelusion, Miss Andrews was thanked by Misses Carnachan and Foster, on behalf of those present. During the evening musical items were rendered by Mrs. Chisholm, Misses R. Kennedy, Caseley and Bagnall. The handing round of a dainty supper brought an enjoyable evening to a close.
