The Hon. W. A. Veitch, Minister of Railways, arrived in Auckland by the first express from Wellington this morning.

Mr. Veitcli was met toy the members of the Auckland executive of the United party, and he subsequently addressed a meeting of the Auckland provincial executive.

Later in the morning the Minis-

ter, accompanied by Mr. E. Casey, divisional superintendent for North Island Railways, visited the Otahuhu workshops and this afternoon went over the new railway station buildings. This evening Mr. Veitch will be the guest of the Auckland Commercial Travellers' Associa-

tion at their annual reunion. The Minister .will return to Wellington on Sunday' evening.
