PLAN PREPARED.

BULK PURCHASE.

Dominion Foodstuffs and Raw

Material.

RESTRICTION ON FOREIGN.

(United P.A.—Electric Telegraph—Copyright)

(Received 11.30 a.m.)

LONDON, August 26.

The British Government is expected to propose to the Imperial Conference the bulk purchase of foodstuffs and raw material from the Dominions, details of which Mr. J. H. Thomas, Dominion Secretary, and others are working out. It is believed that the Government will propose to establish public utility undertakings which would buy wool, wheat, meat and other commodities from the Dominions. It is probable that these commodities from foreign countries would be admitted only under license.
