HIGHER PRICES AT. FEILDING,

Sharp rises in prices of fat sheep, fat . cattle and dairy cattle were recorded at the stock sale to-day. Rates for sheep were up 4/ per head, springing Jersey 'heifers advanced £3, and prices for fat cattle rose to 35/ per 1001b. Prices -were: Fat sheep: Hoggets, heavy prime, 23/7 to 25/3; very good, 20/1 to 22/6; good, 18v*> to 19/; fair, 15/. to 17/5,' two-tooths, special lines, 28/; prime heavy,. >» 23/6; prime heavy ewes, 26/ to 26/0; very good, 23/6 to 25/4; good, 19/ to 21/10; medium, 17/1 to 18/2; wethers, special lines, 31/4 and 32/3; •heavy prime, to 30/10; good, 25/; fair, 21/6 to 22/8. Store sheep: Black-face hoggets, 9/2; black-face ewes, 6/; ewes and lambs, 17/3; -ewe-hoggets*-best condition, to 27/2; good, 23/ to 26/; others, 22/8; wether hoggets. 17/11' Fat cattle: Heavy Shorthorn bullocks, £11 10/ to £12 17/6; Shorthorn (heifers, £10; Hereford cows, heavy, £11 17/6; good, £8 5/ to £9 5/; Hereford heifers, £10 10/ to £11; Polled Angus cows, £8 to £8 7/6; Jersey cows, to £6 10/. Store cattle: Empty cows, to £3 5/; Jersey cows, £2 5/ to £3; Jersey iveaner ■heifers, to £5. Dairy stock: Good quality Jersey heifers (springing),, to £17 5/; fair quality, £7 "/ to £8 10/; inferior, £6 10/ to £7; gc t springing cows, to £13;; others, £8 10,' to £11. POVERTY BAY. GISBORNE, this day. At the Gisborne stock sale in store sheep no breeding ewes were yarded. Hoggets advanced 3/ a head, making 9"/6 to 10/r< ■wethers advanced 2/ a liead,_ up to 18/6. empty ewes were firmer, making 15/6, and two-tooths 10/;: big frame, sound mouth forward, 6/5. Fat sheep were unchanged: Wethers, 18/3; best ewes, 18/1; others, 15/ to 16/; second grade ewes, 14/ to 14/10. Fat cattle were of poor quality. Cows, to £7 2/6. Pigs: A big entry and a brisk sale. Weaners, 12/6 to 15/6; light baconers, 49/; good size stores, to 34/. Hutchinson Brothers' annual draft of Hereford two-year bulls brought up to 61 gut,-, averaging £49 10/.. Sixteen were offered, Kiorc station purchasing six-.
