WHANGAREI NOTES.

Mrf. F. Archer has" returned from;,a visit-to Wellington. Mrs; Pope, Wellington, is the guest ; of jher daughter, Mrs. J. ;W; Hall., Mrs. Goodwin, Kaikohe, was a recent visitor to Whangarei. Mrs. and Miss McCarroll, of McCarrojl's Gap, have returned from a trip around the South Sea Islands. Mesdame's Moffitt and Curry and the Misses Cutforth and Orr, of Otahuhu, were the guests of Mrs. F. Cutforth, Grey Street, for the North Auckland ladies' golf tournament. Mrs. F. Eeynolds was the successful finalist in the North Auckland ladies' golf championship. The annual. dance of the Whangarei Cruising Club was held in the Community Club rooms on Wednesday- night. The room was gaily decorated with streamers, coloured bunting and international code signals. MrC W. Eeynolds, commodore of the club, was in command. Among the ladies present were: Mesdames A. R. McGregor (Carterton)j white taffeta and tulle; R. H. Simmons, white satin beaute; Misses M. Turnbull, black and crimson georgette; N. Kennohan,lavender taffeta; C. McMullen, black' georgette; A. Demp-: ster, pink taffeta and silver N. Bunch, pale,pink georgette; P. Going, apple green georgette; Freer, black vel-vet-and silver lace; McKenzie, green georgette} E. Campbell,, coral pink georgette and black lace; B. Kernohan, pink taffeta;. Vl ; Cochrane, green' taffeta and silver lace; E. Richards, black georgette and lace; D. Marshall, pink and blue georgette; Simpson, red'crepe de chine; Hopkinson, .'apricot ;satin;- E. Ahier, scaidet georgette and crepe-jde chine; C.
