By offering a reduction of 50 per cent m the ordinary freight charge for motor cars, accompanied by not less than two passengers, between Auckland or Newmarket and Rotorua, the Railway Department hopes to secure a substantial portion of the private car traffic between these points. The journey by road from Auckland to Rotorua is a long one, and there are doubtless many motorists who will welcome the opportunity to have their cars conveyed cheaply by rail to destination, thereby avoiding the strain of road travel. New season's two-dome nappa gloves, fine skins, good fitting, brown shades; 6/11 pair.—Milne and'Choyce, Ltd. (Ad.)
