A charge of failing to account for £69 received on account of the Golden Bay Cement Company Employees' Industrial Union, and thereby committing theft, was preferred against Francis Thomas Edward Bird in the Police Court at Takaka to-day. Accused pleaded no£ guilty, reserved his defence, and was

committed to the Supreme Court for trial.
